Our client, a reputable renovation company specializing in home/apartment maintenance, is seeking an experienced and reliable Skilled General Laborer. This role involves performing a variety of general maintenance and repair services for apartment complexes, ensuring that all work is done efficiently, to code, and with the highest level of professionalism.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in multiple areas, including plumbing, electrical work, appliance repair, and construction services. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving maintenance issues, executing preventive maintenance tasks, and ensuring a safe, functional living environment for residents.

Responsibilities:

Plumbing

• Replace and repair toilets, faucets, dishwashers, sinks, garbage disposals, showerheads.
• Perform small repairs on water lines, including Pex A, regular Pex, and copper pipes (soldering required).
• Repair or replace fridge waterlines.
• Unclog drains and replace waterline valves up to 3/4” valves.

Electrical

• Swap out microwaves, range hoods, and other kitchen appliances.
• Repair and replace outlets, light switches, ceiling fans, lights, and light bulbs.
• Install or replace outlet and light switch faceplates.

Appliance Repair

• Install and swap out gas or electric stoves.
• Perform small repairs on appliances, such as heating elements in electric stoves or fixing freezer/ice-up issues in refrigerators.
• Convert gas appliances by changing orifices for propane/natural gas compatibility.
• Remove, install, and perform small repairs on washers and dryers.

Construction Services

• Specialize in the removal and installation of solid surface countertops (Corian, quartz), laminate countertops, and kitchen/bathroom cabinets/vanities.
• Install vinyl snap-in flooring (up to three rooms per project).
• Install and repair baseboards, door jams, interior doors, and drywall.
• Provide small tile repairs or tile removal.
• Perform caulking, install door knobs and deadbolt locks.

Property Clean-Out Services (if applicable)

• Assist in the removal of unwanted items from apartments, as needed (must be discussed in advance).

Requirements:

• Proven experience in apartment maintenance, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, or construction services.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues quickly and efficiently.
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of safety standards and codes for plumbing and electrical systems.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment as needed.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, when needed.
